THE STORY

The 2016 Ford Falcon XR8 Sprint was the last of the Aussie V8 Falcons. They were manufactured from October 2014 until the end of Ford production in Australia in October 2016.

Particular to the 2016 model year, only 750 Falcon XR8 Sprints were produced.

Each XR8 Sprint was fitted with an effortless Ford 5.0 litre Harrop supercharged V8 engine that put out 400 kW of power and 650Nm of torque using the “overboost” acceleration function.

This incredible amount of power was put to the road by either a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission or 6 speed manual.

Other performance features included launch control, 19 inch staggered black alloy wheels with gold 4-wheel Brembo disc brakes, Pirelli PZero tyres, limited slip differential and rear deck spoiler. Track-tuned RSPEC suspension translated to precise handling in any situation.

The cars were adorned with “Sprint” badges and scuff plates, colour coded side mirrors and bumpers and individually numbered build plates for each vehicle.

Inside the cabin there were luxurious leather seats with suede inserts, alloy sports pedals, voice command, digital radio, GPS system, unique shifter assembly and surround, dual-zone climate control, 8 inch touch screen and a SYNC 2 multimedia infotainment interface.

THE CAR

Build number 428 of only 750 produced, this XR8 Sprint rolled off the production line in May 2016 and was sold by Jarvis Ford, Trinity Gardens in South Australia.

A one-owner car with just over 5,400 kms on the odometer, it has always been garaged, cherished and kept in pristine condition by its fastidious owner. The car still retains its “new car” smell.

With an aggressive stance and finished in stunning Silhouette Black, the menacing look of the car is completed by the black 19” alloy wheels and contrasting gold Brembo brake calipers.

The power performance of this car is phenomenal and the optional six speed automatic gearbox can be shifted manually.

Inside the cockpit the seats are appointed in faultless black leather with black suede inserts, contrasting white stitching and “SPRINT” stitched into the front seats.

Standard features include power windows, power steering, power driver’s seat and power mirrors. The Ford command centre contains a CD/MP3 player, Bluetooth, trip computer, multifunction steering wheel, dual temperature zone climate control, leather steering wheel, parking sensors and full alloy spare wheel.

The current owner has installed a plug and play throttle controller and the car has been on a dynamometer and puts out 400kW of power.

An outstanding, pristine example that still drives as new. The South Australian registration expires May 2023.
