2009 PANAMERA S

$ 59,500

THE STORY

Launched in April 2009, Porsche’s first 4-door vehicle’s name was derived from the Carrera Panamericana race.

An evolution of the Porsche 928, the car had a front mounted engine and rear-wheel-drive. There were 3 levels of trim and options – the S, 4S (all-wheel drive) and Turbo.

The headlights were inspired from the Cayenne and the sloped hatch back resembled a Porsche 911. The Panamera was easily the most luxurious car Porsche had ever built at the time.

The cars were powered by a 4.8 liter V8 engine with a double overhead camshaft that produced 400 horsepower. Top speed was an impressive 282 kmph. All variants were equipped with a PDK dual-clutch transmission with shift buttons mounted on the steering wheel.

The Panamera S was the lightest of the 3 options and handled the best according to motoring reviews of the time. The Panamera had the lowest centre of gravity in its class – excellent for throwing into corners at speed.

Other features included an adaptive rear spoiler, sumptuous cabin with individual zones for all occupants and an abundance of head and leg room, climate control, cruise control, sunroof, suspension and engine mapping switches, satellite navigation and subtly hidden passenger compartments.

THE CAR

This immaculate Porsche Panamera S 970 is finished in stunning Basalt Black Metallic. The car is stylish thanks to its matching double stitched Ash Black “ruffle soft touch” leather interior package (special order) and piano black interior trim option. The chrome interior controls set off the dark interior beautifully.

Australian delivered by the Porsche Centre, Melbourne to Caulfield East, Victoria, this is a 3-owner car that has travelled only 72,200kms in the past 16 years.

It is a credit to all previous owners that this car presents in outstanding condition given its age. It has always been carefully garaged and lovingly maintained.

A beautifully engineered vehicle, this Panamera S variant is lighter than its counterparts and has immense and instant power thanks to its 4.8 litre V8 engine that presses you back into your seat when pushed hard.

Handling is very tight thanks to special 21-inch Porsche Turbo-Style motorsport alloy wheels that are clad in low profile tyres that were fitted in late 2023.

A highly optioned vehicle, this car has sports suspension, a glass sunroof, the extended leather dash package, Xenon headlights, a multifunction steering wheel with gear change buttons, panoramic parking sensors, a premium Bose surround sound system and electric multi-adjustable front seats with memory function.

There’s also a CD stacker, colour display screen, active noise cancellation, dual zone climate control, an abundance of courtesy lamps, trip computer, tyre pressure monitoring, GPS and 12V sockets.

The car has its original owner’s books and service history.

An impressive work of automotive engineering in fantastic condition.
