THE STORY

After a 20-year absence, the third generation of the Holden Monaro rolled off the production line in 2001 and covered the V2 and VZ series until 2005.

The V2 series was built between October 2001 and September 2004.

The cars were powered by a 5.7 litre V8 engine that produced 260Kw and 500Nm of power and torque. Transmissions were a 4-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual and performance was stated to be 0-100 kmph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 270 kmph.

The coupes were manufactured not only for Australia but also for export. In three different countries, they had different names – “Chevrolet Lumina” in the Middle East, “Vauxhall Monaro” in the UK and “Pontiac GTO in the USA. In addition, HSV marketed a range of high-performance derivatives without application of the Monaro nameplate.

THE CAR

Built in March 2004 and finished in beautiful Barbados Mica, this CV8 V2 Series III Monaro has travelled only 99,150 kms.

This example is in outstanding condition and has the powerful 5.7 litre V8 with 10.1:1 compression ratio, 6 speed manual transmission and a fantastic exhaust note.

The black leather interior and steering wheel are in excellent condition.

The list of other features is extensive and includes power steering, power brakes, dual zone climate control air conditioning, ABS with electronic brake force distribution, cruise control, LSD, 4 airbags, 6 stacker CD sound system, remote central locking, rear parking sensors, power windows, power mirrors and front memory seats that move forward automatically for access to the rear seats.

There is also sports suspension, an engine immobiliser, front fog lights, trip computer and a traction control system.

The 18-inch alloy wheels have been re-painted and clad in brand new tyres. The car has its original delivery books and full service history.

Last series for the Monaro and with the demise of GMH, these cars are appreciating and will continue to be collectable.
