The Holden Kingswood sedan and wagon were released as part of the new HK of Holdens in January 1968 as an all-new body design, larger and heavier than the previous HR series.

The HQ series released in 1971 and built until 1974, was a completely new design when compared to previous Kingswoods.  It featured a perimeter frame and semi-unibody construction and was the first full-size Holden to have coil spring  rear suspension.

It was Holden's most popular car, selling 485,650 units over a long production run and remains an Aussie icon.

From long term ownership, this tough Holden Kingswood HQ Wagon is finished in spectacular Absinth Yellow (Gold) and sports HJ GTS front guards.

Powered by a Holden 308ci V8 engine that has been stroked to 355ci, the engine features Rolla Rockers top end, a new Holley 600CFM carburettor, a high lift hot cam, chrome valve covers, new alternator, Pacemaker headers with a growling 2.5 inch twin exhaust system.

Power is put to the road via a factory 4-speed M21 Aussie manual transmission and 15 inch Centreline wheels.

The interior has been recently re-trimmed to a high standard, the car has its original bumper bars, tinted windows and a Panasonic stereo with CD player.

Recent work includes the engine being pulled out and a full gasket kit being installed including rear main seal and sump gaskets, new heater core, complete brake rebuild, new front suspension, new ariel.

On Historic registration in South Australia, this car turns heads wherever she goes.
