HOLDEN

1971 HQ PREMIER SEDAN

SOLD

THE STORY

The HQ Holden was a range of vehicles built by General Motors Holden between 1971 and 1974.

It was the first ground-up redesign of the Holden vehicle since 1948. It is universally recognised as one of the best looking Holdens ever produced.

The Premier was the top dog of the mainstream Holden range and featured a woodgrain styled interior, full length armrests, a standard centre console with bucket seats and various exterior style accents including a stylistic use of chrome and badging.

The Premier's design was carried through to the Monaro LS coúpe.

THE CAR

A superbly modified HQ Premier sedan finished in flawless Taormina Acqua Metallic paint with an immaculate contrasting white patterned interior.

This car is finished to the highest standard – all interior components have been fully restored or replaced. The chrome bumpers, light buckets, scuff plates and seat arms are new. Seat foams, carpets and door cards have all been done.

The door gaps are exceptional and each door closes with ease.

Originally a 6 cylinder Premier sedan manufactured in Dandenong, Victoria, this beauty is now powered by a Chevy LS1 5.7 litre V8 crate engine with LS fuses. The engine boasts GM Motorsport heads and Roller Rockers that help it produce 550HP. The computer control unit for the LS1 is situated in the glove box.

The transmission is a 6 speed, T-56 manual with an Xtream heavy duty clutch. Other goodies include a 9” Ford differential, 28 spline billet axles and Eaton true trak 3.9 gears.

Cooling is provided by a 5 core copper radiator and front disc brakes complement the original  rear drum brakes.

Finished to an exacting standard, this beautiful car will not disappoint.
