THE STORY

A beautiful, extremely rare two-door “fixed head” coupe.

One of only 568 examples built by Rolls Royce following a 10-year period of research and development. It is believed that only 369 of these were produced right hand drive with such cars being delivered to England, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.

The beautiful coupe body boasts exquisite, hand-crafted coachwork by Mulliner Park Ward (MPW) that took up to 6 months to complete for each vehicle. MPW were an exclusive coach builder that designed exclusive vehicles of distinction.

Inside, luxurious leather work was supplied by the renowned Connolly Brothers, hand-crafted cross-banded wood veneers were mirror-matched and hand polished to a glass-like finish and deep Wilton hand-tufted 100% wool carpets were installed.

Once the bodywork was complete, each example was returned to the Crewe facility and fitted with the running gear and underpinnings.

Power comes from a smooth Rolls Royce alloy 6.2 litre, 16-valve, naturally aspirated V8 engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission with twin SU carburetors.

Other standard features include power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, power locks, air conditioning, electric seats and hydraulic self-levelling suspension in the rear.

These hand-crafted coupes were the forerunner to the Corniche and are highly sought after by Rolls Royce collectors.

THE CAR

This fantastic Silver Shadow Coupe is an original example that has been lovingly cared for by its current owner of 6 years. The current South Australian owner purchased the car from a collector in Sydney.

This car has been fully sorted and has been treated to new carpets, headlining, vinyl roof and a number of mechanical repairs and refurbishments.

This beauty retains her original Connolly Brothers leather with appropriate patina for its age.

The beautifully responsive V8 has effortless power and the transmission shifts smoothly. The car’s power steering is light with a good turning circle.

All electrics on the car are functioning including electric seats, power locks, power window, and radio with power antenna. The air conditioning is functional.

Paint is driver quality and the front bumper requires some TLC.
