PONTIAC

1962 BONNEVILLE

THE STORY

The Bonneville was Pontiac's costliest and most luxurious model throughout the 1960s.

It differed from the lesser models (Catalina and Star Chief) with its high interior trim specs, instrument panel with walnut veneer trim, carpeted lower door panels, grab bar on the passenger side of the dash and courtesy lights and a rear arm rest.

Other options included power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power seats, radio, cruise control, and 8-lug aluminum wheels that included integral brake drums for improved stopping power.

The Bonneville also had more powerful standard V8 engines than other full-sized Pontiacs including the 389 cu in or 400 cu in with four-barrel carburetors

The 1962 Bonneville was marketed as the only car with wide track design, which improved handling and expand seating room for up to 6 passengers.

THE CAR

This car is a gorgeous example of an early Bonneville which had the same loving owner for the past 15 years.

Recently repainted, the car shows gleaming red paint with clear coat finish and beautiful black interior. Its chrome is immaculate, it retains all its original emblems and steering wheel.

Options include automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, 8-lug aluminium wheels with relined drum brakes and a gorgeous reel out trunk light.

This car has the higher output (303 HP) engine and is a joy to drive with the engine and transmission being rebuilt less than 350 km ago. It has 4 x new Coker white wall radial tyres.

A fantastic example of a big, comfortable American cruiser.
