THE STORY

The 1954 – 1956 Oldsmobile Starfire Convertibles were the most expensive Oldsmobiles produced at the time. The design of this car personified the American fascination with the space race including the glorious  rocket ship mascot on the bonnet, the sweeping lines down the side of the car signifying a rocket jet stream, the sculptured angles of the tail lights and the planet insignia on the hub caps.

THE CAR

The car presented here is a pedigree car that is very rare in Australia. They are also very hard to find in the US. This car was a National First Prize Winner at the 2015 AACA  Concours.  This is significant recognition from the premier American car club (Antique Automobile Club of America) that boasts some 60,000 members. This beauty has had the same owner for many years and has always received the best of care. It is fully optioned and has been restored to the highest specification. This Oldsmobile has its original drive train including a sparkling 324 cubic inch Rocket V8 engine with 4 barrel carburetor and Jetaway automatic transmission. The engine is strong and the gear shift smooth and the car’s power steering makes it an absolute joy to drive. The duco is sparkling with two tone Red/Antique White exterior, black convertible top with white boot, two tone upholstery.
