1985 380 SEC V8 COUPE

SOLD

THE STORY

The Mercedes-Benz 380 SEC C126 was a luxury coupe manufactured between 1981 and 1990 with a 3.8 litre aluminium block V8 engine.

These "S-Class" for Sonderklasse or "Special Class" were always at the forefront of vehicle technology. With this series, Mecedes focused on aerodynamics and employed long wind tunnel testing sessions that resulted in the use of high-strength low-alloy sheet construction, a reshaped front end and bumper and hidden wipers under the bonnet.

Taking 6 years to develop, the W126 is so far the most successful and longest in production of the S Class series.

THE CAR

This 1985 Australian delivered 380 SEC is finished in beautiful metallic Smoke Silver with contrasting red leather interior that is in excellent condition.

Powered by the 3.8 litre M116 fuel-injected V8 engine, the ride is very smooth and the car feels extremely solid on the road given its age.

The car has its original build sheets which boasts a long list of features including 4-speed “4G-TRONIC” automatic transmission, power pillarless windows, power steering, power sunroof, retractable front seat belt arms, climate control, ABS 4-wheel disc brakes, individually contoured rear seats, self-levelling suspension and stainless-steel wheel trims.

This car has travelled only 185,600 kms and has its original books.
