THE STORY

The 1997 Porsche 993 (Carrera Cabriolet) occupies a special place in Porsche's history, as this model was the last air-cooled 911 produced. Air cooling had been the 911's signature since the original 1963 model, and the 993's replacement (the water-cooled 996) ended that lineage.

The 993 used an air-cooled, naturally aspirated all-alloy 3.6 litre M64 flat-6 engine derived from the 964's unit. This engine featured a single overhead camshaft per bank, two valves per cylinder and dry-sump lubrication which could produce 210 kW (282 hp) at 6,100 rpm with about 340 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm.

The 993s were also the first 911 generation Porsche to offer a 6-speed H-pattern transaxle manual transmission as standard.

This manual transmission, combined with the 3.6 litre M64 flat-6 engine, AWD system and Porsche's LSA multi-link rear suspension ensured unmatched power, stability and control in any condition.

This 911 Cabriolet is finished in Arctic Silver with black leather interior and complimented with aftermarket rims. The last of the air-cooled 911s, this Carrera convertible is the pinnacle of performance and beauty.

Australian delivered into Queensland, this is a 3-owner vehicle. The complete service records show that it moved to NSW sometime around 2010 and then came to South Australia in 2020.
