THE STORY

The BMW 7 Series is the fourth generation of BMW's flagship sedan, produced from July 2001 to 2008. The 745-series entered production in Dingolfing, Germany from January 2002 and ran until February 2005.

These models introduced several mechanical innovations: BMW's iDrive system (the world's first 6-speed automatic in a sedan), Valvetronic variable valve lift, variable camshaft timing and DIVA continuously variable intake manifold.

BMW's tried and true naturally aspirated 4.4 litre N62B44 V8 engine combined with the ZF six-speed automatic transmission put out an impressive 325 hp at 6,100 rpm with peak torque at 3,600 rpm.

The Li E66 long-wheelbase variant added 140 mm to the overall wheelbase and had self-leveling rear suspension and BMW's Dynamic Drive system which hydraulically countered body roll via actively controlled anti-roll bars.

The "Individual Diamond Line" was a BMW Individual special specification layered over the 745Li, adding exclusive diamond metallic paint, distinctive 20-inch alloy wheels, white indicator lenses, illuminated BMW door sills, natural wood interior trim and Merino leather door panels, armrests and center console.

This 2003 BMW Individual Diamond Line 745Li is 1 of 14 right-hand drive produced globally with the Carbon Schwarz and Merino white leather colour combination. Originally bought out for the Melbourne Motor Show, this rare 745Li Individual made its first appearance in November 2003, as the main centre piece.

As the Alpina edition did not come out until late 2004, Maxton Industries in England were tasked with designing the front and rear lower skirt spoilers on this car.

Only 14 vehicles ranging from a 3 Series to a 7 Series have a spoiler kit on them, as they were show specials for various motor shows around the world.

This vehicle is optioned with the 'M' package upgrade, which includes front, side and rear sports bars, spoiler, 4.4 litre V8 'M' 275 kW spec-engine, 6-speed steptronic automatic transmission, 'M' brakes and refurbished BBS factory 20" M cross spoke wheels.
