The Ford Falcon FG was produced by Ford Australia between 2008 and 2014 and was the first of the last generation of Australian Falcon. The “FG” moniker was a nod to the discontinued Fairmont Ghia.

The FG range achieved a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and was the first Australian manufactured car to do so.

Ford reserved the XR badge for its sport models and the XR6 featured a 4.0 litre Barra inline 6-cylinder engine with a specific ECU that had been sport-tuned. This engine is highly regarded today and has a fantastic reputation for reliability and performance.

The model is known for its reliability, comfort, style and thus, in many circles, is considered to be a future classic and collectable car.

THE CAR

Built in March 2010 and delivered new by Challenger Ford in Rockingham WA, this is a two-owner vehicle that is presented in the incredibly rare colour and visually stunning paint colour “Mystic Pearl”.

The paint colour was a limited-run special order colour for 2010 that can appear either blue or green, depending on the light.

Data shows that there were only 5 Mystic Pearl Utes built in 2010 (1.46% of all production) and only 3 had automatic transmissions.

This Ute has travelled only 108,600 kms in 16 years and is powered by its original 4.0 litre, straight-six engine (261 HP), coupled to a Ford five-speed automatic transmission.

Inside the car is in excellent condition with Shadow Black interior, fantastic carpets, dash and door cards and the XR insignia stitched into the seats.

The front disc brakes are ventilated, and she sits on after-market 18”x 8” black Cheetah wheels with Pirelli tyres (the original rims come with the car). The tyres have only travelled around 3,000kms.

It has many features including a tow pack, climate control, cruise control, leather and multi-function steering wheel, MP3 decoder, multi-function control screen and CD player. The rear tray is enclosed, lockable and fully lined with Ford’s durable polyethylene tub liner.

The car also sports driver’s electric seat, 2 airbags, ABS, electronic stability, central locking, an engine immobiliser, sports pedals and trip computer.

Work done under current ownership includes installing slimline weather shields on the windows, XR carpet mats, mud spats, headlamp replacements and replacing the roof lining. The brake rotors have been machined, and the brakes pads replaced not many kms ago.

This Ute has its original books, service records and a second set of keys including the fob.
